My friend Joe is very funny. We've known each other for years, and we have many things in common.

1) We were both homeschooled, for a time.
2) We both are in love with music.
3) We can both play guitar insanely well....wait, that's just him.
4) We both have a unhealthy knowledge of Disney Trivia.

Anyway, about 2 years ago, we found ourselves up at 3 am and bored out of our minds. So I set up my recording equipment, and we recorded...these:

And then Joe figured out the guitar to this one in about one minute....

My friends and I are starting a company. The friends: Branden, Bob, and I. The Company: ....we're still working on a name, but we're getting close. What will we do?...You'll see.

In other news,

Bob and I sent a package to Asthmatic Kitty on Friday, which they should be receiving today or tomorrow.

The package is the first draft of a product that Branden, Bob, and I will be offering in full force, in about a year. The product in entitled, "The Show", and contains three acts.

Act 1: The Shoot
Act 2: The Performance
Act 3: The Interview

This product also contains a fourth disc we call,
The 4th Wall: Breaking Through

The 4th Wall can be anything that provides an extra personal experience for our clients. For Shara Worden it was the t-shirt we gave her; and for Asthmatic Kitty, Bob and I made a short video introducing ourselves.

Here's a shot of the product (don't judge me, I don't shoot products that often..)

I'm not the biggest fan of contemporary christian worship music.

There are a few CD's out there that I don't mind (and some I even really enjoy), but as a whole I have found contemporary worship music reflects the churches and communities they come out of. So, in the case of America, the worship music is often "a mile wide and an inch deep."

This is not so for Daniel Bashta.

Daniel is a guy I have only recently gotten to know. I'm helping shoot his wedding in a few months, so he's been up to the studio a few times. He's a worship leader at a local church in Birmingham, and on one of the visits to the studio he mentioned he was working on a new CD. We asked, and he gave us a few copies of the pre-release.

It's good.

Really good.

Check out his website, and send him an e-mail telling him what you think.

This lyrically simple song "Heaven" really hit me this morning:

His Kingdom Come...please.

A few things:

1) Artwalk went great. Bob and I were in the same room, which meant we were able to hangout and listen to music all day. We had a bunch of people see our work, and we both sold a good amount of prints. It feels pretty cool to know that your personal work is hanging in someone's house. Good times.

2) I (and by "I" I mean "Cary is awesome, and all that I know about web site stuff is only because he is so generous with his time. Thank you Cary.") am currently working on a series section to the ol' calebchancey.com.

The first series of which is already launched here:
Romania

(It's pretty much composed of what I showed in Artwalk. It may develop later, but we'll see.)

3) Previously "Point 1 Mentioned" Bob has finally released his website. I'll just say it's great...and awesome...and I'm kind of nervous about putting a link to it here, in fear that no one will ever come back here after seeing how good he is...yeah...

Here's the Link:

Everything is in Balance

4) Previously "Point 2 Mentioned" Cary, after much deliberation, has triumphantly released his Paleo series. I will tell you the same thing I told him:

"Cary, I've seen these images 100 times, but the way you present them tells such an amazing story, I am continuously sucked in."

The series can be viewed here:

Series: Paleo

That's about it for now.

Happy September!!

For those of you who don't know, I'm in the Birmingham ArtWalk this year. The show starts a week from this Friday and runs until that Saturday night. I'll be exhibiting my Romania series, and I'm really excited....ok, I'll admit it, I'm REALLY stressed out. If you pray, please pray for me.

The exhibite will walk through my journey in Romania. This includes experiences on the train, a hungarian gypsy villiage, hiking in the mountains, and general portraits.

One of the areas I'm really excited about my "Student" section. While I was in Romania I was able to teach some students about cameras and give them a few rolls to shoot.

I'll post pictures later.

Peace. - Caleb
