Bob and I were able to go to the My Brightest Diamond concert tonight. Not only that, but we were able to interview Shara Worden and take her out for a photo-shoot.

I'm happy with my digital images, but I can't wait to see what comes out of my Rollei.

Here's one of my favorite songs of the night:

So, I'm going with a few of my friends to see The Simpson's Movie at midnight tonight.

I'm excited.

Yesterday, I went to pick up some film I dropped off to be processed and scanned. To my surprise, when they gave me it back, it wasn't the film I was expecting. Instead, it was film from a Wild Sweet Orange concert a few months back. Here are a couple from that:

Too early for Christmas? I think not.

I had my iTunes on random today, and when these two songs came on, I found myself deeply moved. I've heard these songs a thousand times, but for some reason today....they were very real to me.

The first is called, "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks." It's by Andrew Peterson off his Christmas album called "Behold the Lamb of God."

The second song is by Rosie Thomas off her newest album "These Friends of Mine." It's called "Why Waste More Time?"

You may have seen this person in my Recent section (located above) and wondered, "Who could that be?"

Let me brag on this girl really quick. I was introduced to Emily Deloach when she played at Bottletree a few months ago with Matthew Perryman Jones. For some reason, she thought the show was "a little awkward." This, once again, proves that we are our own worst critics. In my opinion, the show couldn't have been that bad because it prompted me to go to her CD release later that next month.

Her newest album is called "I Have Stood Still and Stopped the Sound of Feet" (which I think sounds like a great shortstory title).

I've been listening to the album A LOT since the show, and I have come to this conclusion:

It is, indeed, very good.

In short, Buy It.

Today was a good day. I would go into detail, but I will refrain, for the time being.

I'll be buying my 5D soon. I'm very excited about that.

I was going through my archive recently and found two pictures I thought I would post. The first is of my friend Jarrett (you all know him from post 7-20). It was taken in the really creep hallway next to Cary's apartment.

The next is of my friend Rob. We had some free time and an couple rolls of expired slide film.

So, I stayed up all night working.... be impressed. I got in at about 7:30 this morning, took my car in to get it's oil changed and dropped off 2 pieces of laundry at the drycleaners.... yes, I know "Caleb, don't tell us any more exciting news, or I think my heart will explode!"

In other news, due to my very bad sunburn, I am now peeling.

Note: Peeling is fun. It's the closest thing I'll get to actually being a snake....unless I was Harry Potter...because, he can talk to snakes...and I think snakes can talk to each other...otherwise, how would they plot against the rabbits...

I'm going to see my best friend Jarrett today. He going into the Navy. He's going to become a translator...maybe he'll learn to speak snake...

I did a photoshoot a while back with he and his sister for a mother's day present (for their mom, not for my mom). Here's my favorite one of Jarrett:

We came into the studio this morning and we found that the icemaker was not making ice. Instead, it was making lukewarm water and had been doing so all night. So our shooting space was flooded. This kind of ruined a backdrop we had set up.

But like they say: One man's misfortune is another man's chance to become a lion!

Note: If you ever play indoor soccer, DO NOT Slide Tackle. 1) It's illegal. 2) It feels like a giant sand-paper cat just licked your leg.

My friend, Bob Miller, received an e-mail today, stated the follow:

Hi Bob!
We can definitely make this happen!
I'll put you on the list plus one.
Sound good?
xxj

This is a reply to an e-mail which Bob had written to the press office for the band My Brightest Diamond. Bob is going to interview the band when they come in town on July, 31st. I am the "plus one", spoken of.

I am excited.

Here's a song called "Dragonfly" from their album "Bring Me the Workhorse":
