Weekly Nostalgia

About 6 or 7 years ago (before I had ever picked up a camera), my best friend Jarrett and I were going through my garage and found an old looking metal box.

Inside this box was a family history in slides. Who's family history? I don't really know. I'm guessing it's a distant cousin or something.

Strangely enough, I kept that box when I moved to Birmingham.
Saturday was an fantastic day of rain, and rain makes me nostalgic. Nostalgia for me is an overwhelming desire to wrap up in something analogue. Something that is both sensory and sentimental. Felt and imaginative.
It is in this spirit that every Monday I'll be sharing a weekly bit of nostalgia. My advice is to look at these pieces whenever you feel that need for the old, tangible, and real. May these little pieces of story add to your own story, and encourage your writing. I hope you enjoy.
