The Grandfather Project: Update

Papa is most at home when he is sitting in his big leather chair, the TV on CNBC, his head cocked back while he is completely passed out in one of his "Papa Naps".

However, between nap and bedtime, Papa and I sat down for a 2 hour coversation last night. One of my favorite stories was of Papa playing in a basketball tournament in highschool. He remembered everything: the points he scored in each game, the names of each team, etc. "Then there was this one player who would always stay at the 3 point line and wait for me the come at him. Because of him, I only scored 3 points in that game", he then paused. "His name was Ferbi, and he dropped the atomic bomb in World War II."

Crazy.

Papa and I went to coffee this morning and then we drove all over Enterprise the rest of the day. I really can't wait to get the film back

Peace. - Caleb

That story is #1!
Do you really think FERBIE dropped an A Bomb?
I can't wait to see the film.

wow caleb. your papa was an important dude and sounds like a baller. the only thing that is sketchy in the story is the use of the 3 point line. the 3-point line was implemented in the 70's in the NBA and was first introduced in the 60's...

but still, an amazing story. i want to read more!

for all our sakes, I hope someone named ferrbi dropped the a bomb. It would be poetic justice for having such a horrible name.

As for the three point line, you must remember Adam that my Papa is a time traveler.

Umm, dude's got his own wikipedia page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Ferebee

He was the bombardier on the Enola Gay. That's incredible.
