The first thing we heard was music. Then came the shouting.

At first I thought Josh was playing a live concert through the main speakers in the studio. But this sound was distant, and building by the minute. I stood up and ran to our windows that look over 2nd Ave N.

I grabbed a loading Hasselblad, and headed for the street.

Every year on MLK Day hundreds of people, both black and white, march to the 16th Street Baptist Church. This was the first year I had the privilege to be one of those who marched.

As we made our way across the intersections we sang the hymns We Shall Overcome and Amazing Grace.

Some seemed to be marching for current political issues; others for the sake of remembering the man who helped uphold the cause of freedom. Whatever the cause or reason, we all marched to remember the joys and the responsibilities we have to one another in this brotherhood of man.

There will always be those who need our help.

There will always be a way and reason to show love.

Peace. - Caleb
